[Concert Review] M83 @ Theaterfabrik 2012

Munich, Germany. First of all, DAT has to introduce the opener for M83 on 5th March. It's Mauron Remiddi - a Italian musician who creates his songs in New York in the moment - or better known as Porcelain Raft. He was a dignified opener with his pretty great beats and synths. I met also people who were just coming for Porcelain Raft. After his performance I know why.

But now we get our attention to one of my favorite artist of last year. The main act M83 started with a some kind of alien and one of my favorite songs "Intro" of the second album "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming". Live the synths and the voice had so much more power. You could yourself totally let go with these kind of music. Also you could see it how the band members reacted. For example the bassist rocked the stage by dancing totally wild. The sound in the venue was, by the way, brilliant and the visitors seemed to be satisfied by the performances of the evening. For my own, I was entirely impressed. Good show. Thanks M83. You can come again!

Oh, I totally forgot a little embarracing anecdote. The drummer had Birthday on 5th March and Anthony - the head and maker of M83 - asked the concertgoer if they would like to sing for his drummer Happy Birthday in German. Well, perhaps, the were only foreign visitors or nobody couldn't sing. Anyway, the result was a awkward silence. So, let this be a lesson to you. Be prepared for such situations.
