[Concert Review] Warpaint @ Freiheiz 2012

Munich, Germany. In the big festival summer time, concerts in town are getting rare. Especially, the good ones. One of the magic live gig nights was on Thursday, 19th July. Four friendly shy American girls appeared on the stage. Warpaint makes the tepid summer evening to a evening DAT which all other attenders won't forget. But what was that amazing? In my eyes, drummer Stella Mozgawa did an remarkable job. Also, the guitar players Emily Kokal and Theresa Wayman who take over the main part of singing, have enchanting voices. Last but not least, Jenny Lee Lindberg - the bass player - was unfortunately handicapped and had to seat the whole evening on the stage. However, this case doesn't influence her bass play. In Summary, a goose bumps atmosphere and a memorable concert evening.

Check out the whole album "The Fool" below. So, you can feel a bit of this atmosphere Warpaint build up in the venue.

[Ticket Drawing] Warpaint @ Freiheiz, Munich

Los Angeles, CA, USA. Four American girls making music together and calling themselves WARPAINT. Emily Kokal and Theresa Wayman playing at the guitar, while Jenny Lee Lindberg is playing at the bass and Stella Mozgawa at the drums. The group was founded in 2007. John Frusciante - member of Red Hot Chili Peppers - produced the first single "Exquisite Corpse" of WARPAINT. In 2010, they released their debut album "The Fool". The style of the ladies could be described as melodic post-punk with hypnotic voices and entangled guitars. They play already with bands like Yeasayer or the Slits and made already also their own headliner tour. Enjoy the style of WARPAINT below. And German readers should keep reading after the track. You can win something.
